Finding Our Way Through the Mark Maze | By: Megan Felix

Pop/R&B singer and songwriter, Mark Maze from Leicester, UK may just be releasing all the pesky skeletons in his closet with his newest album “Uncomfortable truths.” Spilling all the tea about his previous experiences of affection and controversy, while melding components of R&B and electric beats, paints the lyrical aura of Maze’s music in the underground domain of artistry. After feeling swallowed by the demands of management which lead him to take full control of his career path, Maze has learned the skill of trusting his intuition and remaining genuine to his craft.

In an era where the idea of genres has transformed tremendously, Maze has teamed up with Laconic Productions to create his own original style of Pop music. Grabbing ideas from artists such as Michael Jackson, Prince and R&B/Pop singer Pink, has allowed Maze to prove worthiness to his fans and loyalty to his influences by writing and performing his own hits for the present-day music scene.

In “The Devil May Cry,” Maze’s leading single, there is no debate that he is a fruitful poet reeling listeners in with his opening the line “Black velvet skies, raven eyes stare right through me.” Sandiegofreepress calls him a “master of tension building” as he starts off most of his tracks with a soft-toned ballad then gradually building the vocals and beat to a booming bass rhythm. To promote his new album, Maze will be going on tour very soon, all upcoming dates can be found on his website: Markmazeofficial is sponsored by:

Khristy j 2014 (4)

Standing tall at 5 feet 10 inches, Khristy “Christine Neptune” J has made many impressive strides in her modeling career thus far. For the past few years she has been hard at work and her consistency has definitely been paying off. Since her last feature in BLACK, Khristy J has walked for numerous designers, some of which include women’s ready to wear designer Sarah Hoopes for NYFW and Made by Soka for Brooklyn Fashion Week 2014. She has also been the beauty and makeup muse for James Vincent and Orlando Santiago during NYFW’s “Work the Runway” workshop, as well as a promo model for Japanese brand, Dex cosmetics.

By far one of her biggest accomplishments was being a front row attendee at the Mercedes Benz fashion week held at Lincoln center. She had the honor of experiencing the Anna Sui spring 2015 collection first hand while hobnobbing with big names in the industry. Khristy J looked gorgeous during the iFashion panel, a renowned international panel series for a network of new generation fashion designers who embrace diversity. She posed for the Made by Soka ss15 collection by Karen de fretias. This gained her a feature on popular Instagram page ellements magazine.

Her latest, and most tasteful body of work includes her feature on Arsenic magazine online book for the “mujer desnuda” series shot by Daniel Simon of HughMorrisPhotography. She is also the newest face for color box vintage online store ( However, her biggest and most influential job to date is being a full time mother to her beautiful three year old daughter. We have no doubt that Khristy J (better known as MsLongLegs) is destined for greatness. She is fresh faced, poised, humble and ready to take the fashion world by storm. Can’t wait to hear what else she has in store for us.
